Coaching

A passion for the collaborative process makes an excellent fit for the role of a musical coach, where Karen can bring her combined experience as a performer, art song afficionado and teacher to focus on helping you and your musical partner(s) refine and perfect your work.

In addition to coaching university-level duos preparing for their year-end juries, performances and recitals, Karen often works with duos in need of extra insights and inspiration, fine-tuning musical details and adding that extra bit of polish before performance. With vocal-piano duos, she focuses on ensemble balance, interpretation of the poet as well as the composer's intents, and historical and biographical contexts.

With instrumental ensembles, Karen concentrates on helping the players complement each other, set up more dialogue and communication between members, as well as the other elements listed above.
